The short answer
Share Gaffr in Gaffr Live gives you a QR code and a link. The link opens a page that says you're sharing Gaffr and links to the app stores. The page shows your first name, photo, roles and shifts on Gaffr, and your rating once you have three. It shows nothing of you until you've seen the screen that says so, and you can switch it off. Gaffr counts opens and store taps, nothing about who.
How do I get my QR code?
Open My Gaffr profile in Gaffr Live, then Share Gaffr. You get a QR code and a link. "Send the link" opens your phone's share sheet.
Someone who scans the code, or follows the link, goes to Gaffr and Gaffr Live in the app stores. Gaffr Live suggests sending it to someone who books crew, or works as crew.
What does the page show?
The page says "{First name}'s sharing Gaffr with you." It also shows your Gaffr Live pass, with:
- your photo and first name
- the roles you work, in two columns, with a tick against each
- how many shifts you've done on Gaffr, like "47 shifts on Gaffr"
- your star rating, like "4.8 from 12 ratings", once you have three ratings
With no shifts, or fewer than three ratings, those lines are left out. Nothing stands in their place. The pass shows up to eight roles.
The page never shows your surname, contact details or checks. Your photo is a small copy with its hidden details, such as where it was taken, removed.
What do the people I send it to see?
Below that are two blocks: "For clients – Gaffr" and "For crew – Gaffr Live". Each has store buttons for iPhone and Android.
Where an app isn't in its store, its block says "Gaffr is coming soon. Get on the waitlist" and links to the waitlist instead.
Who can see my page?
Anyone with your link or QR code. Gaffr Live says so: "Anyone with the link can see it." A forwarded link shows the same page.
A chat app's preview of the link shows only Gaffr, never your name or photo. The page's title is the plain Gaffr one too.
Can I switch it off?
Yes. The page shows nothing of you until you've opened Share Gaffr and seen the notice about it. Opening it for the first time turns your details on.
Under the QR code is a switch, "Show me on my page". While it's off, Gaffr Live says: "Your page shows Gaffr and the app stores only." "See your page" opens your link in your browser.
The page also shows only Gaffr if a required document has run out, or you've asked to delete your account.
What does Gaffr count?
Each day, Gaffr counts how many times your link was opened. It also counts how many times someone pressed a store button from it, and for which app, iPhone or Android. Gaffr Live says: "The count doesn't record who they were."
Gaffr keeps nothing about the person who opens the link with the count: not their address, device, cookie or the time of day. Gaffr's team sees the counts. Gaffr Live doesn't show them to you.
The counts are kept while your account is open and deleted with it. The privacy notice covers the rest, including what the website's host sees. Your data explains how to ask for a copy.
