Ratings and feedback

How rating works after a shift, when a rating shows, and what each side sees of it.

Who it’s for: Crew members and the clients who book them.

The short answer

After a shift, the client and the crew member can each rate the other with stars and a comment. A client's rating shows on the crew member's profile once both have rated, or 14 days after the shift. Crew see the stars, comment, role and month, never the client's name or company. A client sees a crew member's average from three ratings. Gaffr can hide a piece of feedback, and records why.

How do I rate?

Gaffr and Gaffr Live ask each side to rate once a shift is over. Pick 1 to 5 stars and add a comment. A low rating needs a comment that says what went wrong.

The Gaffr app also asks the client "Would you book again?". Gaffr Live has a "Not now" button, so a crew member can rate later.

When does a client's rating show?

On the crew member's profile, once both have rated the shift or 14 days have passed. Gaffr Live puts it like this:

"A client's rating shows here once you have both rated the shift, or 14 days after it. After that you can no longer rate that shift."

What do crew see of a client's rating?

Crew see the stars, the comment, the role they worked and the month, like "Stagehand · October 2026".

Crew never see the client's name or company. They never see the venue or the date. They never see the client's answer to "Would you book again?".

The Gaffr app tells the client this before they write. It says the crew member sees their stars and comment "without your name or company".

What do clients see of a crew member's rating?

A client sees a crew member's average once they have three ratings. A rating counts in the average once it's showing, and while Gaffr hasn't hidden it.

Your Gaffr profile shows how a crew member's card looks to a client.

Do ratings decide who is offered a booking?

Gaffr doesn't rank crew on ratings when it picks who is offered a booking. The privacy notice says the system "never ranks you on ratings, declines, your rate, releases or problem reports".

After a rating, the app can ask whether to prefer or avoid that person for future bookings. Getting offered more work explains what that does.

Can feedback be hidden?

Yes. Gaffr can hide a client's feedback about a crew member, and records why. A comment that names someone else is one example. Hidden feedback leaves the crew member's profile and every star average shown in the apps. Gaffr keeps it.

Gaffr doesn't check comments before they show. A crew member can't reply to feedback in the app. To ask Gaffr to look at a piece, email hello@gaffr.uk.
